Ta Da!

Ava is Potty trained!!!! And I hate to brag, but it was actually pretty easy! But I do have to give someone else alot of credit! Ava's friend Kadri was potty trained a few weeks ago so everytime they get together Ava has seen Kadri use the potty. Lacey came up with a great idea for rewarding them (two sticker for poo, one for pee and when the row is filled up...a trip to the dollar store to pick out anything the potty champion wants!) So basically I watched Lacey try different methods, find one that works and copy her! (Thanks Lacey!) Ava is still wearing a diaper for naps and bedtime, but the last few naptimes she has had a dry diaper when she wakes up. She is so proud of herself evertime she goes...and so are we! It's so nice not to have to by two sets of diapers once a week.

Rolling Brooklyn! (not kidding she can really roll!)

Not only do we have incredibly gorgeous girls...they are smart too! Brooklyn hates tummy time...so much that if her arms are in the right spot she rolls! Keep in mind she is only 8 weeks old! She does it all the time now...I think she is going to be one of those kids who is walking at 10 months to stay away from her sister (or keep up)!!!!!!

Beware!!! It gets really dizzy at the end of the video!

Swimming

On Saturday, we decided to go to Lazy 5 to play! Ava was SO excited cause Daddy was coming this time!
We are glad Ava still likes water because on Friday she nearly drowned! We were at a friends pool for playgroup. Ava and her little friends were jumping in and out of the pool and hot tub with their floaties on.(Ava is part fish...with no fear!) When it was time to go I took off Ava's swimsuit and floaties. Brooklyn was fussy so I turned to her for literally a few seconds to put a binky it. When I stood up I just felt like something was wrong. I couldn't see Ava anywhere near. She had jumped into the hot tub and all I saw was her feet and arms kicking as hard as she could and then she started to float to the bottom. I jumped in (fully clothed) and pulled her out...I don't think she had been in for very long because she was screaming as I pulled her out. It was the most beautiful sound I have EVER heard! I have learned that my little dare devil will not have her floaties removed until we reach the car! I am so grateful for her and I'm so grateful that she wasn't hurt in any way!

Ava didn't want to wait for daddy to finish his pudding...so she kept trying to take his shirt off so they could go "swvimmin"!

Such cute smiles!

Getting pampered

I had my back to the girls the other morning as I was putting Ava's books away and she told me "mommy I cut Brooks hair..." Thank goodness it was only the harmless play doh scissors! (We only have one pair of scissors in our house...and they are safe out of toddlers reach!) Now Brooklyn receives daily haircuts by Ava!

Kadri's mom had a dr.'s appt. the other day, so we got to have a fun morning with Kadri at our house. They had a blast playing in the pool at eating popcicles while I got to practice with the camera! These two are hilarious to watch......

Smiling!

Brooklyn has started smiling and cooing...it's the cutest thing! However, as soon as I bring the camera out she stops and looks at the camera like...what the heck is that. So here are a few pictures of me trying to catch her sweet smile!

Happy 4th of July!

We had such a fun day today. Our ward had a breakfast at the park...and of course I forgot to take pictures of Brooklyn and Ava in their way adorable 4th of July outfits. After the yummy breakfast we went to the 4th of July parade...which was a huge disapointment! Ava just wanted to see "yee haw...cowboy...yeehaw." (There weren't any, just polititians which she didn't find nearly as neat.) When we got home from the parade we all felt like this...
and this....since we were all up this morning at 1:30 a.m. we all did a little of this....
And after a great nap we went to our friends house for a fun BBQ. Ava found a cup of Dr. Pepper and was literally bouncing off the walls. No caffiene for this kid! This is a picture of Brooklyn and Ashton (the Keele's daughter)...BFF's already! Ashton was born 9 days before Brooklyn, and aren't they the cutest babies!
Since we are now officially boring parents we didn't do fireworks...we are all going to bed!

bath time

Brooklyn loves taking a bath. The only time she cries is when Ava dumps a cup of water on her head! Ava loves to help wash Brooklyn and get her ready for bed...what a good helper!

She's starting to fill out!

Having fun

We went to the spray water park for a fun playdate and had a blast. At the end of the video you will see Ava screaming in pure delight....she did this the entire time we were there. Everytime water would come spurting out or dump on her, she would scream in joy! She LOVES water!

Nice People

I'm glad to know that there are still gentlemen out there!
Today at Walmart I was checking out. Both girls were pretty fussy as we had played like crazy at the park earlier and it was near lunchtime. The guy in front of me saw me trying to console Brooklyn (who was in the Baby Bjorn), unload my groceries, and hand Ava stuff to put on the counter so she could "help me". He told his son "go help her unload" in which his 12ish year old son helped me unload my whole cart. I couldn't thank them enough!
