You know your child wasn't on their best behavoir in Sacrament meeting when immediately after it's over you get three comments like these:
-"Don't worry. Nobody noticed your screaming child during sacrament meeting."
-"My son told me that if she were his child, he would have knocked her out by now."
-"You sure you want another one of those?"
They were all meant in good fun, but today Rob and I were both struggling to find humor in ANYTHING! Our child is the sweetest cutest baby in the world and we love her more than anything. Today, though, she sure tried our patience!
I know it's easier said than done, but you'll have to pay those comments no mind. It's like the "well-meaning" comments you get when you're pregnant, like, "Wow, that baby sure is getting big!" or "Gee, are you ready to pop yet?" And Ava is a sweetie, cutie pie! Everyone has their rough days at church. (Heaven knows Kadri had hers last week.) We love Ava!!
ReplyDeleteI think Lilly and Ava must have been on the same wave length or something. Dustin didn't even take her to church, he stayed home becuase she was the BIGGEST nightmare all morning and he didn't want to deal with her. I don't know what the deal is but she has been making me NOT want to have another one lately. Sweet little easygoing Lilly has turned into frustrated, tantum throwing, screaming little Lilly. What is up with out kids?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Ann! Those Sundays are so hard-and I hate when I find myself asking, "and why did I go to church?" I can empathize, as Ryan is at church 1-2 times out of the month, and when I'm by myself, after sacrament my arms are ready to fall off from trying to hold Carly, keeping her from climbing over the bench-across the bench, over the bench, whatever! I know it's so hard, but I just tell myself, "Hey, at least I'm trying!" I figure we'll be blessed in SOME way..........I hope!! ; ) Hang in there-I'm sorry about the comments people made!! Oh the tactfulness of some members! WHew!
