(Lacey I hope you don't mind I stole your picture!)There have been lots of little earthquakes around here for the last few months. I've only felt a few, but today was an exception! They reported having 30 earthquakes (obviously most of them very very small) but three of them really shook things up....a 4.2, 4.1, and 3.0! For the two biggest ones, Ava and I were outside at the park. They were LOUD and shook the playground equipment (as well as rattling my nerves!) Both times I grabbed Ava, not sure if I should run for the car or just hang out! The smaller one happened during dinner, and it sounded like someone dropped something heavy in the bedroom!
The good thing about all these earthquakes is that I've FINALLY gotten a 72 hour kit together. I know we are always told to be prepared but I guess I always have had the thought that we would just go to mom and dad's if something went wrong. Once these earthquakes started happening, I realized I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened and I wasn't able to have survival items for my family (especially if we have been warned time and time again to get them!) It's taken some time getting everything together, and Ava and I have gotten to know the camping section at Walmart quite well, but it's almost done!
Nothing like the Earth shaking to get you thinking about self preservation!! I used to like to think that I could just head to Murtuagh as well when disaster struck, but have since thought more realistically! Good for you.
